PLANS

"Many are the plans in my heart but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
~Proverbs 19:20

Oh, God, will you bless what I am going to do today? Sound familiar? We make decisions daily about our lives, our work, and our loved ones and forget to ask God what He desires. We throw up a prayer and ask God to "bless" what we are doing, without even bothering to ask Him if this is a part of His plan.

Do you commit your plans and your day to God? Do you seek wise Godly counsel? The Word of God tells us that "in his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps" and that "plans fail for lack of counsel". Seek the most Wonderful Counselor daily, and your plans will succeed.

Prayer:
Father, I confess that my days are full. I have overbooked my calendar once again. I have set goals, made plans and have not sought you in my decisions. I haven't slowed down long enough to seek you. Forgive me, Lord, for my self-sufficiency and for trusting in my own strength and not in you.

I commit to you, Lord, what ever I do, and you tell me in your word that you will make my plans succeed. Today, I lift up to you - each meeting, each phone call, each goal that I have set, and ask for your divine wisdom and discernment to guide and direct my steps. Help me to know when to say "yes" and more importantly, when to say "no". Holy Father fill me with your wisdom and power so that I can be stronger in Your power than I ever could be on my own. Establish the works of my hands, Lord, as I seek you throughout the day.
