SUFFICIENCY

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
~2 Corinthians 12:9

Today's society places so many demands on women. We must bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan. Our motto is, "I am woman hear me roar!" Women today try to be all powerful, all knowing and all sufficient. Not! Are you tired of trying to be Super Woman? Are you tired of trying to be self-sufficient and in control? Do others look at you and wonder how you do so much, when on the inside you are ready to scream. Do you dream of secretly running away never to be seen again?

There is only one who is all-sufficient. There is only one in control. In fact, when we are at our weakest, He shows Himself strong on our behalf. It is when things are falling apart, when we can no longer be in control (or rather, the delusion of being in control) that we are ready to reach out to the One who is waiting, who is all-sufficient. His power is made perfect in our weakness.

Prayer:
Father, my heart rejoices that I can let go and trust you, for your grace is sufficient. You are more than adequate to meet my needs. You are a god of "more than enough" and my sufficiency and my competence comes from you. Like the Apostle Paul, I will boast about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Lord, let me not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. Let me boast in knowing you, and that You are my soul sufficiency.
