OPEN HANDS

"...lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing."
~1 Timothy 2:8

Unclench your fist my child, for your anger does not worship me. Open your hands my child, to lift them up...to praise and worship me.

Unclench your fist my child, for you can not serve me. Open your hands my child, to serve...for you are my hands to help those in need.

Unclench your fist my child, for you hold on to things so tightly. Open your hands my child, to give...for it is better to give than receive, and it all belongs to me.

Unclench your fist my child, for I can not give you the things you really need. Open your hands my child, to receive...the bountiful blessings and all the love I have for thee.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for giving me two hands to praise and worship you, to serve you, to give and receive. Forgive me when I have kept them tightly clenched in fear of letting go of my anger, my money, my things, my rights and my heart. Let my heart and lips pour forth praise and my hands pour forth your love and grace to all those around me. Teach me to lift up my hands in the sanctuary and praise you, for you are the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth!
